Tal'Zareth

Tal'Zareth is the vast underground realm of the dark elves, hidden beneath the surface world of Tanelon. It is a place of terrible beauty — obsidian halls stretching into darkness, crystal veins pulsing faintly in the rock walls, soul-lanterns casting green-tinged light that never flickers. The architecture is carved from living stone and reinforced with soulglass — a translucent dark elven material used for both construction and weaponry. Tal'Zareth is ruled by competing clans, the most powerful of which is Clan Darkashul under High Lord Darkashul. The realm contains slave pits where captured surface-dwellers and lesser dark elves toil, breeding warrens for blind war-lizards used as mounts, and vast armories of soulglass weapons. Political assassination is a recognized art form. Exile — being cast clanless into the tunnels — is considered worse than death. Sorrowblade and Bladesfool were both exiled from Tal'Zareth after surviving High Lord Darkashul's betrayal.
