The Broken Shields

The Broken Shields are a reserve unit of elite heavy infantry known for brutal efficiency in close-quarters combat. While not full-time members of the Grim Shadows, they operate under a binding pact with the Red Hand and can be summoned as auxiliary support during high-risk campaigns, hold-line missions, or direct city engagements. Stationed at Stonewatch, a fortified barracks on the outskirts of Arkest, they remain in permanent readiness awaiting dispatch orders from Rake or one of the Fingers. Their sigil is a split helm above a broken tower. They field disciplined formations of shieldbearers, hammer troopers, and phalanx breachers. Their presence on the battlefield often signals the beginning of a ground-clearing operation or final push.
